Thrive Knowsley

Thrive Knowsley is a new day centre / respite service which offers a bespoke service for young adults 18+ with learning disabilities and complex needs in a safe, secure environment. 

Young adults will thrive within the service. We will provide activities and opportunities to keep them engaged, active, healthy and build their confidence and reach their potential and for the young adult to be a valued member of the community. 

The services and activities we will offer include:

• Horticulture
• Daily life skills
• Cookery
• Arts & Crafts sessions
• Volunteering
• Swimming
• Walking Group
• Attending The Sensory Hive sensory group
• Form of therapy often used to help communicate and build relationships with people who are non-verbal or have problems with verbal communication, through the use of playing, singing and listening to music.
• Adapted cycling

We aim to provide a service which is meaningful and tailored to the individual, to prevent isolation and to enable them to form and keep friendships which is extremely difficult once they leave full time education. 

Thrive Knowsley will actively encourage young people to choose what is important to them. We will use PECS and A system of communication that involves the combined use of manual signs and speech.  for young people who have communication difficulties and actively engage with their parent carers to help shape the service that bst meets their Young Adults needs.
