Extended Childcare Offer

Dear Childcare Provider

Please inform your parents that they may be eligible for a 30 hours place and if so they will need to apply for a code as per the dates below or they will not be able to access their full entitlement until the following term.

You can apply from when your child is 2 years and 36 weeks old.

When your child turns 3 between 1st September to 31st December they can get 30 hours from 1st January so it is recommended to apply between 15th October and 30th November.

When your child turns 3 between 1st January to 31st March, they can get 30 hours from 1st April, so it is recommended to apply between 15th January and 28th February.

When your child turns 3 between 1st April to 31st August, they can get 30 hours from 1st September, so it is recommended to apply between 15th June and 31st July.

You can apply outside of these recommended dates but you might not receive your code in time.

You must have a valid code by the end of the month before a new term starts.

You have to reconfirm your eligibility every 3 months. If you apply more than 3 months before the term starts, you’ll have to reconfirm your eligibility in your account in order to keep your code valid.

Parents can apply now at childcarechoices.gov.uk for their 30 hours code.

Please remind parents of this, encourage them to apply now and signpost them to other childcare options, including Tax-Free Childcare, via the Childcare Choices website.

DfE would also be grateful if you could continue to remind parents who already have an eligibility code to reconfirm their eligibility for 30 hours and / or Tax-Free Childcare every 3 months.
