Things to know
Target Ages: Newborn-3 months for Newborn Hearing Screening / Reception class age for School Hearing Screening.
We aim to complete the Newborn Hearing Screen within 4 weeks of birth and complete the screen before discharge for every baby born at Whiston Hospital. The screen is offered by a trained screener and carried out at the bedside.
Parents of Reception aged children will receive a letter from school which offers their child a hearing screen in school.
Team Leader of the service is Alison Rimmer (Chief Audiologist).
All staff have a DBS.
