HomeStart Knowsley

HomeStart provides a support service for families - recruiting and training volunteers to support parents with young children at home.  We work with families with at least one child under the age of 11.

Includes Fit4Life Health & Wellbeing programme.

New services:

Sunrise Project - 1-1 support for those with low level mental ill-health.
Out & About Project - support for parents/carers of children with additional needs and/or disabilities.

Core Offer

-

  • 1-1 targeted support by volunteer peer supporters for familiies with a child under 11 either in the home or to access services/specialist provision in the communiy.  Volunteers trained & supervised by qualified staff who negotiate Early Intervention Targeted Support Plan with family.

Plus -

  • 1-1 targeted support by volunteer peer supporters for families wiht a child under 11 either in the home or to access services/specialist provision in the community.  Volunteers trained and supervised by qualified staff who negotiate Early Intervention Targeted support Plan with family.  Can be a step-down from .

Partnership Plus -

  • 1-1 targeted support provided by qualified/trained staff working alongside other professionals.

  • 1-1 targeted support provided by qualified/trained staff working alongside other professionals as part of CP/ /CinN Plan - especially if family is known to us and there is a history of non-engagement with statutory services.

Fit4Life Health & Wellbeing Course

  • 6 x 2hour sessions covering healthy eating, practical cooking, stress busting, budgeting advice, growing session, parenting advice, benefits of exercise, health priorities.

Plus -

Rapid Response 1-1 support by paid staff

Big Hopes Big Futures School Readiness

  • This is run as a short course delivered in the home by specially trained volunteers. 1-1 support to help parents create a positive learning environment for their children.

Breastfeeding Peer Support

  • Training & supervision of breastfeeding volunteers who run drop-ins across Knowsley and awareness-raising events and promotion. Plus 1-1 support and phone support.
