This latest newsletter outlines Government changes to the law in relation to and the newsletter highlights the changes and the importance of working with parents, schools and health partners during the current pandemic.
A special Coronavirus newsletter has been produced to keep parents / carers informed of advice and support available during this challenging time. It includes updates around reviews and assessments as well as the neurodevelopmental pathway and arrangements for online support and how the Knowsley Parent Carer Voice can be contacted.
In this newsletter, there’s a focus on the Knowsley Parent Carer Voice – their change of address, their attendance at multi-agency workshop where they talked about their experiences of the neuro developmental pathway, Sensory Hive attending their coffee mornings, along with the dates, times and venues of their forthcoming coffee mornings. There’s also a focus on STOMP (stopping the over medication of people) and STAMP (supporting treatment and appropriate medication in paediatrics), along with details of how to find out more about the help and support available to you through the Local Offer website
In this edition, parents / carers and children / young people are invited to take part in a survey seeking views on the Short Breaks survey (what works well and what could be improved), the launch of the new post-19 education facility called Flourish and how the Empower Job Carving programme is helping adults with a learning disability and / or difficulty to secure employment. There’s also the forthcoming Knowsley Parent Carer Voice coffee mornings as well as where to find more information and activities on our Local Offer website
In this newsletter, the Council for Disabled Children has published the first in a series of SEND data bulletins designed to share learning and improve data on disabled children and young people, Knowsley has achieved the Youth Justice Quality Lead Award, there’s an update on the Neuro Development Pathway, support in our nurseries, the latest coffee mornings hosted by the Knowsley Parent Carer Voice, short breaks and how to access them along with the local offer website.
In this edition, there’s updates about speech and language therapy support, Occupational therapy, an update on school attendance, personal budgets, the CCG has made a new appointment so we welcome Maria Burney as the Deputy Designated Clinical Officer. There’s also updates on the benefits of short breaks and how to access them along with the forthcoming dates for the Knowsley Parent Carer Forum coffee mornings.
In this edition, you’ll find an update on the council’s investment into post-19 education for young people with a special education need and / or disability, a profile on mental health services and support, the work of the Knowsley Parent Carer Forum and how you can get involved, the latest update on the neurodevelopment pathway (along with feedback received since some improvements to address waiting times have been implemented), KOOTH counselling support as well as the success of the Knowsley Supported Internship Programme.
A recent parent / carer workshop focussed on the Team Around the Child (TAC) model, the range of activities available through INC@The Youthy and Knowsley Outdoor Education Centre (as well as how to find out more), welcome to Katie Hinds (the council’s new Head of Education and ), some of the feedback received from parents / carers, along with forthcoming dates for your diary and a summary of the recent symposium.
