Disability Access Fund

The Disability Access Fund (DAF) helps early years providers support children with disabilities or special educational needs.

What is the fund for?

DAF is designed to help providers make reasonable adjustments to their setting for eligible children. If an application is successful, the provider will receive a one-off payment each financial year.

Who is eligible?

The provider can claim DAF for a child who attends their childcare setting who:

  • is aged between nine months and four years old and
  • receives child disability living allowance (DLA)

If the child attends more than one childcare setting, only one provider can claim DAF. The parent should choose which provider claims.

Any 4-year-old children already in Reception year are not eligible for DAF funding.
